I am an amateur runner and have always enjoyed being active for the past 40 years. Ever since being diagnosed with Epilepsy in my teens I have always been interested in keeping fit. I would say that being active is an integral part of my life. It has been a great way to manage my mental health, sleep, general well being and setting my fitness goals. Not forgetting that running is a very social form of exercise.
I am no expert and have never run a Marathon. Which means I am on a similar journey to some of you who are listening. In the past, I have blindly run different training programmes ; never thought what all these terms mean. What is interval training? What is a tempo run? What are the benefits of the long run? I hope this podcast will go some way to put this jargon into layman's language.
